Hi Jessica! For me it is graduating from University! I was a first-generation student which that my parents didn’t go to University. Growing up, University never felt like a possibility for me since I didn’t know that many people who went and didn’t really understand how it all worked. Luckily, I had amazing teachers who inspired me to follow a career in science and encouraged me to go to University. 🙂

Probably getting a work placement whilst at university (which I am on now) – it means I can experience working and then go back to university with what I’ve learnt! When I was applying for my work placement, it was at a stressful time at university when I didn’t know if I was going to get one 😊

For me it was finishing my PhD and moving to England – it was a crazy experience moving to the literal opposite side of the world from Australia, but I haven’t looked back!

Mine was graduating from university with a first class degree and winning a prize for my Masters project. I’d put in a lot of hard work, so was really happy that it was all paid off – and it helped me to get my current job 🙂

I am similar to Felicity, I do have several achievements but making the step to university and acing it was a big achievement for me, I am extremely grateful in particular to one of my lecturers during my undergraduate degree who helped me realise my potential and inspire me towards a career in science rather than sport
