      Hey, great question!
I love microbiology, and i couldn’t imagine really doing anything else. If i did retire from science i would love to be a zoo keeper though as i love animals!

Ahhh, if I wasn’t involved with the heavy elements, I would look at making new compounds for different colour purposes! That was what I had done previously and was very enjoyable seeing all these new colour crystals be formed!

Excellent question – it really got me thinking! I am super interested in diet and nutrition so I would like to research the effect of different types of diets on human health. 🙂

I’d like to learn more about space and other planets and galaxies. I find it so cool that they existed way before us humans did!

If I wasn’t working in Chemistry I would probably like to be involved in Physics or Engineering – I am fascinated by all things space and astrophysics, but I also would love to design and build cool things like crazy buildings or robots!

Hmmm good question! I am so lucky that with my job I can pretty much explore most fields of science as I communicate about a range of research. But my main area is biology which I really enjoy exploring but if I couldn’t do this then I would probably go into animal science as I did used to want to be a vet 🐱

Right now I would probably want to explore ecology and the environmental impact we have on ecosystems around the world. If I left science altogether then I would work outdoors and become a kayak instructor and river leader.

Good question. I really like history and languages so I think I would probably study them. In fact I did study linguistics and history a bit in university as well as biology because I couldn’t decide which thing I liked the most!

I think I would love to go into robotics. I like to make robots in my spare time (only little ones) but I would love to learn more about them. But if I couldn’t do science at all, I’d like to be an electrician.

I’d always wanted to be a vet when I was younger, but now I quite enjoy the collaborative nature of the work that I do, I’d like to see it from the other side (not academia or public sector) – so maybe working for a non-governmental organisation or wildlife charity to campaign to protect our seas!

Interesting question! Something more to the side of biochemistry. Maybe neuroscience where you study the brain and figuring out how and what happens when we think. Outside of science, I think linguistics, where you study languages would be quite cool to try out. I can’t really think of a particular job that I would like to do though…
